A few figures on plastic consumption in Italy
Did you know that…11 billion plastic bottles that take up to 450 years to fully decompose are consumed in Italy every year and that over 33 thousand of them end up in the Mediterranean Sea every minute. Experts predict that there will be more plastic than fish in 2050.
What’s more, a large quantity of water and petroleum must be consumed to produce bottles, causing harmful emissions in production and transport.
Plastic free and sustainable alternatives
With the advent of the plastic free philosophy, that aims to free us of superfluous plastic, many Italian companies and multinationals are, luckily, getting ahead of the European directive scheduled for 2021 to eliminate plastic from their headquarters by experimenting with sustainable alternatives.
Small steps to fight plastic waste
At Te.Co., we too are substantially responding to the environment’s cry for help.
We have chosen solutions that help protect our planet: in fact, we use filtering systems connected to taps in our headquarters to fill our Culligan aluminium bottles to eliminate plastic ones.
Our office supplies are also changing to help respect and protect the environment: in fact, we have produced recycled plastic pens for gadgets to hand out to our customers to spread our eco-sustainability message.
Each of us, no matter how small, can make a difference. This is why we want to spread ethical and green messages. For us, adopting these solutions not only means protecting the environment but also our employees, our customers and our partners.
Paper waste is another concern we’re focusing on: a tree has been calculated to be worth about 12,000 sheets of paper thus attempting to use paper responsibly means avoiding to cut down many trees.
Saving paper is a simple step that each of us can take daily. Simply think about it.
We know that our company has a minimum impact on the environment but we are also convinced that, together, small measures can lead to great changes.
